Postcards
from rehearsals.

Excerpts from articles and reflections written during rehearsals for Nelle puntate precedenti, the theatre series by Gruppo della Creta at Teatro Basilica.

The passages shown here are excerpts, not complete articles.

01“It’s falling, it’s falling!”

“‘It’s falling, it’s falling!’ director Alessandro shouts, looking behind the two actors, Laura and Alessio. We are in the third week of rehearsals for Nelle Puntate Precedenti by Gruppo della Creta at Teatro Basilica: don’t worry, no one has been hurt. That wall is not scenery. It is the weight Chiara and Max have carried for 25 years, the truth they have never dared tell Giulia, which now, on stage, takes physical form. With their backs against the wall, the actors hold it up as one holds something awkward that cannot be dropped because it would make too much noise.”

Annamaria La Rosa

02The weight of a family

“Beyond a family’s pain, we find a trauma that keeps repeating itself. They remain still, in that farmhouse, inside the wall. There is no moving forward until that wall falls and they allow themselves the luxury of being happy without feeling guilty about betraying their family.”

Annamaria La Rosa

03Supporting one another

“And this is indeed what comes through in rehearsals: the group’s ability to support one another, to create a performance in a single week. This says more than the story itself: carrying a heavy weight is only possible if someone carries it with you. In a family, as on stage.”

Annamaria La Rosa

04Invisible objects

“We are struck by the group’s ability to remain immersed even without scenery or props: empty spaces fill with imagination, invisible objects acquire weight and form. When everything eventually arrives, scenery and props, nothing will really have changed, because it was all real already. Not everything can be explained, only felt: emotion taking shape. And all of us, together, inside that transformation.”

Annamaria La Rosa

05When affection stumbles

“When a family story is touched upon, when pain is brushed against, everyone recognises themselves in a crack, a gesture, an unspoken sentence. It is not about identifying with the plot, but with that precise way in which affection stumbles. That is why certain details seem small yet open up entire rooms.”

Annamaria La Rosa

06Inhabiting imperfection

“Returning to the opening question: it is there, in that millimetre of error, that emotion sparks and stays. It has been precious to inhabit imperfection and witness rehearsals as though beside a turning potter’s wheel: we watch them shape the clay, knead it, scoop it out, add water, remake the rim until the line holds. The text warms between their hands, takes shape, collapses and rises again, steadier. We stand around the workbench, witnesses to a shared creation.”

Blu Lab Productions

Blu Lab brings film, theatre and design together through a multifaceted background in the performing arts.

Directing, writing, acting and visual communication come together in an approach shaped by the story and language of each project.

Blu Lab manages client communications, creative development and workflow coordination, bringing together the professionals needed for each production.

Tension emerges from what remains out of frame. Blu Lab explores unease, ambiguity and the unexpected in everyday life, weaving cinematic suspense into a contemporary pop aesthetic. Deep blues, orange accents, silences and details create a visual world that leaves room for the viewer.
